St. Joseph’s has a number of ministries to meet most people’s gift areas.
Within the Sunday services we have the opportunity for ushers, readers, singers, and altar ministers (both young and old!) Additionally, the altar guild is always in need of people who feel called to prepare the altar for the Sunday service as well as care for linens and silver. If prayer is your gift, we have an active prayer chain. If you enjoy gardening, there are many opportunities for that. If you have a ministry calling not listed here, by all means be in touch with us. You can use the Contact tab on this web site to send an e-mail.
Much of our ministry is done outside the Parish. St. Joseph’s has a long tradition of reaching outside itself in numerous ways to help others. Ongoing projects include support of Second Harvest Bank, Christmas gifts for needy families with children, back-to-school supplies for the fall, and camperships to help children have some type of camp experience who otherwise would not be able to do so.
We have a long-term commitment to provide an “ark” full of farm animals to undeveloped areas through the Heifer International program; we regularly contribute to Doctors Without Borders; and we are poised to respond to emergent crises such as hurricanes, earthquakes and tsunamis.
If you like hands-on ministry, we help pack food boxes at the Orange County Food Center.
Do you have outreach ideas that aren’t listed here? Send an e-mail. We would love to hear from you.
